With the arrival of Winemaker Marcia Torres Forno in 2010, Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc production underwent a fundamental transformation. In concert with her winemaking and viticulture teams, Marcia helped change how we plant, farm, harvest and vinify this noble grape.
To accentuate the specific attributes of terroir and style, Marcia uses a combination of fermentation/aging vessels including stainless steel tanks, stainless steel barrels, concrete eggs, puncheons, foudres and French oak barrels.
The result is firm acidity, bold aromatics, and vivid flavors. This versatility makes it an excellent companions for a wide array of foods including oysters, green olives, vegetables and seafood.
