About the Wine:
Our special relationship with Charlie and Gloria Gilbert of Gilbert Cellars in Yakima has given us access to some of Washington State's best grapes in the very best growing years. 2016 was a record harvest year in Yakima and the Gilberts had a spectacular bumper crop of perfect grapes. Two of their vineyards in particular, Doc Stewart and Peach 10, produced more grapes than ever before. Over dinner one night in Yakima, Charlie and Gloria offered to work with us on a new white wine project that we would produce together to celebrate the stellar vintage. If you notice, the label is our Notorious brand featuring the long "N" from our “Nice” label, while on the top of the white capsule, a Gilbert "G" is embossed into the cap. This was our way to show our appreciation of our longstanding commitment to supporting family farmers like the Gilberts. They are our partners in winemaking at every step in the process.
When you first smell and taste this wine, you are struck with a feeling of déjà vu – it seems familiar and comforting, but you don't know why. The initial aromas of pear and apple give way to luscious tropical notes like passion fruit and honeydew melon. On the palate, it is crisp, full-bodied, and satisfying. We have purposefully called this simply a "white wine" and not divulged the grape varietals so that you can enjoy this wine with an open mind before judging it based on your preconceived notions about certain grapes. We ask you to evaluate this wine on its merits – its flavors and aromas – and let us know what you think. We feel confident you will love it!
We suggest enjoying this wine on a warm day by the pool or on the patio. Pair with savory poultry dishes, like chicken with white wine and mushrooms.
Tasting Notes: Pear. Apple. Passion Fruit. Honeydew Melon.
