On the nose, the Ricossa Barbera has aromas of red cherry, dried strawberry, plum, and blackberry. It also has hints of violet, lavender, dried leaves, and vanilla. Drink this wine with rich meats, mushrooms, herbs, herbaceous cheeses like blue cheese, and higher tannin foods like root vegetables & braised greens. The bright acidity in the wine will compliment a rich and fatty or high tannin meal. This is definitely a drink now wine. It does not need to be decanted and will not improve further with age.
