FAQs about Flight Arrangements

When should we book our flights?

We suggest booking your flights in early 2025.  However, if you are using points or miles to pay for your flights, we suggest that you book as soon as the airline makes your travel dates available.

This all depends on which of the following itineraries fits your travel plans:
A) Burgundy Cruise only (Oct 16 – Oct 23)
Fly into Lyon, France Airport (LYS)
Fly out of Marseilles, France (MRS)

B) Cruise + Champagne Pre-Tour (Oct 13 – Oct 23)
Fly into Paris, France, Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)
Fly out of Marseilles, France (MRS)

C) Cruise + Nice/Monaco Post-Tour (Oct 16 – Oct 26)
Fly into Lyon, France Airport (LYS)
Fly out of Nice, France (NCE)

D) Cruise + Champagne Pre-Tour & Nice/Monaco Post-Tour (Oct 13 – Oct 26)
Fly into Paris, France, Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)
Fly out of Nice, France (NCE)

Yes.  If you book your own flights, you will be responsible for getting from the airport to the start of your trip (to either the hotel in Champagne or the ship in Dijon) and you will be responsible for getting from the end of your trip to the airport (from either the ship in Arles or the hotel in Nice).

For the safety and security of all guests on board and to ensure you have a seamless travel experience, we are now requiring details for all independent pre/post-cruise travel arrangements. At your earliest convenience, please email michelle@travelwithnice.com with your personal travel arrangements prior to departing for your trip.
If you book your airfare through AmaWaterways with no deviations from the start and end date of any of the four itineraries above, AmaWaterways will also include your airport transfers. If you elect to make your own airline reservations and travel arrangements with no deviations in schedule from the rest of the group, you will be responsible for your own airport transfers. The pricing for reserving a seat on these transfers is:
  • A group timed transfer from Lyon to the ship in Dijon is $110 per person on embarkation day (Oct 16).
  • A group timed transfer from the ship to the Marselles Airport is $140 per person on disembarkation day (Oct 23).
You will also be responsible for your own airport transfers if your dates deviate at all from any of the four itineraries above. In that case, you must make your own arrangements. Reminder that there is no charge for transfers if you book through AmaWaterways with no deviations.
Yes, starting in January 2025, you can ask Michelle to obtain quotes from AmaWaterways for your flights.  If you would like to learn more about air fare and request a quote, please complete the Request for Air Fare Quote form below.

AmaWaterways will quote the least expensive itinerary that most closely matches your requirements. Due to the ever changing and volitile nature of air travel pricing and schedules, the quoted itinerary and fare can only be held for 24-hours.
