Winery FAQs
Each one of our guided wine experiences is accompanied by perfectly paired bites crafted by our Executive Chef that are prepared for each guest. Daily wine experiences are easily scheduled online, by phone, or in person at our winery. Our guided tastings are a little more unique than your typical belly-up-to-the-wine-bar setting. We host seated tastings at our beautiful and cozy winery that has a living room setting. This means you might be seated next to someone you don’t initially know, but trust us, you will not be strangers by the end! (If your event is private, obviously this is not the case.) At a tasting, you will learn all about our unique winemaking concept, why we choose to make sustainably-farmed wines without the use of chemicals or additives, the difference between family-owned wineries vs. commercial wineries, why you really get headaches from red wine (hint – it’s not sulfites!), how to decipher tasting notes in wine, and any other questions you’ve ever wanted to know about wine and winemaking!
You are absolutely correct- our winery is not a wine bar. Our educational, guided wine and culinary tasting experiences are one-of-a-kind. We seek to bring a Napa Valley experience to our hometown. In order to deliver on that promise, we offer scheduled, guided tastings led by our knowledgeable winemakers and sommeliers every day that we are open. We seek to bring a Napa Valley experience to our hometown. In order to deliver on that promise, we offer scheduled, guided tastings led by our knowledgeable winemakers and sommeliers. Each one of our guided wine experiences is accompanied by freshly prepared, perfectly paired bites crafted by our Executive Chef that require time and advance notice to create. We are grateful for a supportive community of foodies that respect our decision as a small family winery to place the quality of each guest’s time and experience with us above the convenience of on-demand, impersonal, belly-up-to-the-bar tastings. By design, we offer a unique, memorable experience.
Our tastings start promptly on time, so we ask for guests to arrive at least 10 minutes early. Late arriving guests can join the tasting already in progress, but we are unable to delay the tasting or serve wines and food courses that have already been served to the other guests. Please plan accordingly, check traffic conditions, and leave in plenty of time to arrive early.
Nice Winery is focused on wine and wine education and providing an enjoyable wine-centric experience for all of our guests. While we are thrilled for those of you who are celebrating bachelors/bachelorettes, weddings, birthdays, etc., we are likely not a good fit for those types of parties. We are not an event venue where you can rent a party room. If you want to bring a group in for a wine education class, we are happy to have you and celebrate with you in the Nice Winery way! If you want to drink with friends, get loud, and wear cute birthday hats, we respectfully ask that you find a different venue. We are not a wine bar. Although we do sell bottles of wine to our club members, we do not sell wine by the glass. We do not allow any outside food or drinks. We also do not allow balloons, outside decorations, smoking, vaping, or pets. We are a 21-and over establishment and cannot accommodate small children.
Our winery, gardens, and vineyard provide an urban escape from the bustle of city life, exclusively for wine enjoyment by adults over the age of 21. It is not an appropriate venue for children. Club Members can bring their children into the retail space when they are simply picking up their wine.
We are a working farm with chickens roaming the property that most other animals (including humans) find delicious and irresistable. It is not safe for your precious pet to be at a working farm, potentially terrorize our chickens, and risk being attacked by their guard rooster. Please leave Fido at home and give our chickens some peace.
We are unable to offer any refunds for cancellations or no shows on the day of your scheduled tasting, class, dinner, or event.

- Never Wear Strong Perfumes: Wine tasting is an olfactory experience, which simply means our sense of smell plays a major role in how we perceive aromas and flavors in wine. Perfume and other products with strong fragrances, such as aftershave, body cream, hairspray or deodorant, can really distract from the wine tasting experience. Not just for you but for those around you, too.
- Wear White with Caution: While white is a classic, effortless look and makes for a chic outfit amidst the vineyards, wear at your own risk! There’s nothing like a splash of red wine from an overzealous swirl to ruin your favorite outfit.
- Dress Up: When in doubt on what to wear to a winery, merely remember to always dress up. Going wine tasting is a special experience some might consider a luxury. So, dress for the occasion. Definitely skip the sweat pants, shorts and tank tops. The winery is cold, so bring a wrap, coat, or sweater.
- Skip the High Heels: Vineyards and high heels don’t really mix. You’re likely to find yourself meandering through vineyard rows, possibly wandering through a wine room filled with winemaking equipment, or checking out our vegetable gardens. Opt for flats, sandals, sneakers, loafers, or boots instead.
