This Widdoes Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from Shirley and Don Widdoes' family vineyard and is farmed by Steve Dutton of Dutton Ranch. Located just West of the little town of Graton in Green Valley (which is within the Russian River Valley), it is a magical location for Pinot Noir cultivation. The Russian River Valley near the Sonoma Coast is the go-to place for high-end Pinot Noir.
This wine is very dark red for a Pinot Noir with a strong purple hue, deep and brooding aromas of ripe plum, cherry cola, raspberry reduction and toasted chestnuts. Jammy and earthy flavors with some whole cluster stem character add complexity to this broad and rich wine. This is a wine that needed some time to mature, so we have held it until now, 2020, when it is at its prime!
