Winemaking is a labor of love. At Nice Winery, we don’t believe in taking shortcuts to lessen the load. We take pride in making wine the right way – with the utmost integrity – from the vineyard to the bottle. It’s not the easy thing to do – it’s the right thing to do.
Making wine with integrity means we work with small, family-owned farmers who respect the land with sustainable farming techniques and minimal manipulation to produce outstanding grapes. This enables us to craft wines of the highest quality and support the communities we care so deeply about.
This wine is produced from one of the most sought-after Howell Mountain vineyard estates. At an elevation of over 2,000 feet, the vineyards here enjoy ample sunshine, cool nights, and well-drained red volcanic soils. The conditions are challenging, but worth the extra effort as the vineyards produce wines with outstanding flavor, intensity and aging properties.
The final blend is:
11% St. Macaire
10% Petit Verdot
9% Gros Verdot
9% Cab. Franc
7% Cab. Sauvignon
Pair with grilled meats, like Porterhouse Steak, or rich and creamy cheeses like gorgonzola. We recommend decanting this wine for 30 minutes for prime flavor expression.
