This lovely Chardonnay will be featured in a Facebook Live Tasting with Ryan on Wednesday, October 14th, at 7:00pm. You must be a member of our private Facebook Group, the Nice Winery Wine-Os to join. We'd love to see you there.

It exudes citrus and apple aromas with complex layers of flavor and texture on the palate, balanced by bright acidity. This exceptional vineyard was developed in an old creekbed at the western base of Sonoma Mountain. Trust us and try this lovely wine to see what Chardonnay should taste like!

This wine features a combination of Clone 95 Chardonnay from Sangiacomo Roberts Road Vineyard and Old Wente Clone from Sangiacomo Vella Ranch and Green Acres. The Roberts Road block, planted in 1998, provides minerality and vibrancy. The Old Wente Clone selections are known to produce distinctively small clusters, low yields, and result in elegant, complex wines that round out this blend. These ranches are perfectly suited for growing Chardonnay, with cool climates and well-draining soils.

WINEMAKER NOTES: "The 2017 vintage endured tragic wildfires that were driven by 80 mph winds on October 8-9. The fires devastated Napa and Sonoma counties, destroyed more than 8,000 structures, took 44 lives and disrupted winery operations for several days. Fortunately, all of our Chardonnay grapes were picked prior to the fires and there was no impact to our 2017 Chardonnay wines. Balanced vines and temperature fluctuations resulted in layers of flavors and complexity in the wines. The overall high quality of the vintage is a blessing after such challenging events. In 2017, the individual Sangiacomo vineyard components were harvested on separate nights and delivered to the winery early in the mornings. They were immediately whole-cluster pressed and barreled down into French oak barrels for fermentation in a temperaturecontrolled cold room to retain bright aromatics and freshness."
