The top Malbec in Matías Riccitelli’s extensive range is sourced entirely from Vistalba in Luján de Cuyo from a vineyard that is over 100 years old. 100% new oak, this is still a very young wine with density and concentration and oodles of aromatic blackberry fruit. Impenetrable black/deep purple colour. Concentrated plum and boysenberry fruit characters accompanied by heady scents of rose and lavender on the nose. Massively opulent, modern, 'fruit bomb' palate, with graphite notes from the very nicely judged use of oak. Tannins are fine-grained and soft. Finishes fresh and long.
