The 2014 Yokayo has fragrant and distinctively Cabernet aromas full of strawberry, cherry, leather, currant, violets, sandalwood, lavender, and subtle cardamom. The palate is equally gorgeous with extremely rich molasses gingerbread cookie, vanilla, potpourri, walnut, plum, and cassis. Rockpile gets very hot during the day and this develops some robust fruit which lends itself very well to Cabernet. This wine is an excellent example with robust tannins providing the lattice for a complexity of fruit and spice flavors to develop.

Extensive French oak aging guarantees a richness that will pair well with smoked meats like venison and rich reduction sauces like a demi-glace or a Bordelaise sauce. We recommend decanting this wine for 20 minutes before enjoying. This wine is ready to enjoy now and will continue to drink well if cellared properly through 2024.
